  11. nc_update_beta.lha - this is the 'update' archive - you need to find BetterString,
  12. NList, TextEditor and Toolbar yourself. Optionally, NListtree is needed for tree views.
  13. Easiest way is to download 'newscoaster_b.lha'- this will also give you the
  14. documentation.

  28. - Toolbar is now provided with 'Toolbar' MUI class. No graphical icons are currently
  29.   provided however - please send me some:) (they should be located in the 'icons'
  30.   folder, under the names "main.toolbar" and "main_G.toolbar" - see toolbar.mcc docs

  32. - Improved performance on 'threaded view'.
  33. - Post immediately option finally returns for writing messages.
  34. - Bug fix; disposing MUI objects from a hook called with such an object is not a good
  35.   idea.. (also before some objects weren't getting freed at all).
  36. - Bug fix; couldn't abort on moving/copying/undeleting messages.

  39. - When downloading a message body (online mode), if the server claims the body is not
  40.   available, try again using the article number instead of the messageID (this fixes
  41.   the curious behaviour where NewsCoaster says a message is no longer available, even
  42.   though you only just downloaded the header).
  43. - New option to not display From/Subject of messages when downloading news.
  44. - Don't display message about groups being downloaded into a file if checking for new
  45.   newsgroups, and none are found.
  46. - Minor improvements to index reading/writing.
  47. - Bug fix; enforcer hit when opening the View Message window.
  48. - Bug fix; if messages that you hadn't downloaded bodies for appeared in a search
  49.   result, and then you fetched the body, clicking to read the message in the search
  50.   window would result in NewsCoaster fetching the body again.
  51. - Bug fix; couldn't cope with messages that didn't have spaces between messageIDs on
  52.   the References header line.
  53. - Bug fix; ARexx command SETFOLDERBYNAME was rereading index when that folder was
  54.   already being displayed.

  56.   cause silly problems like checking one group twice, or not checking a group at all.

  84. - Groups Manager menu option - displays the groups manager for the default newsserver.
  85. - Switch back to storing temporary files on disk, so as to not waste RAM; will make the
  86.   location an option in future.

  88. - Bug fix; if the user aborts whilst downloading the message body, should not delete
  89.   the message header!

  91. New for version 1.45: (21.11.1 - *BETA*)
  92. - Option (on by default) to delete message header automatically if you try to download
  93.   the body and it's no longer available (ie, in online mode).
  94. - New 'View Header' menu option under 'Messages' which will display the header; if
  95.   you haven't yet downloaded the body for the message, it won't attempt to do so.
  96. - If mime type is multipart/alternative, still list all parts on the attachments page.
  97. - Fix some problems when/when not to append .sig; also the first .sig is used as the
  98.   default when creating a new message that isn't initially to any specified group.
  99. - Store temporary files in RAM: instead of the newscoaster folder.
  100. - Bug fix; if name of uuencoded file had a space in it, only the first word would be
  101.   used as the default filename when you saved it.
  102. - Bug fix; possible illegal overwriting of memory when some parts of code dealt with
  103.   messages with long lines.
  104. - Bug fix; if the system crashes/resets whilst downloading, we should make sure that
  105.   next time we download for the group, we switch to checking for message duplicates
  106.   again (and do so until we're up to date with the group again).
  107. - Bug fix; illegal memory accessing when viewing messages with attachments!
  108. - Bug fix; quoted-printable decoding wasn't working properly.
  109. - Bug fix; if appearance type was set to 'Plain Text', newly opened messages were still
  110.   displayed in 'Email Format'.

  113. - Improved speed of reading in the newsgroups list to the Groups Manager.
  114. - Got rid of 'Write List' and 'Sort List' options from Groups Manager; groups are now
  115.   sorted by default before being displayed.
  116. - New 'System Information' menu option which outputs a text file containing some
  117.   information about your system - useful to send to me when reporting a bug.
  118. - Bug fix; Security Hole - escape characters are now stripped from downloaded text (see
  119.   http://www.abraxis.com/SA-2001-11-08.html for more details).
  120. - Bug fix; 'Previous in Thread' option didn't work in threaded view mode.
  121. - Bug fix; the 'Export' menu option on the View Message window was opening the old
  122.   version of the export message code.
  123. - Bug fix; When downloading bodies of messages (online mode) that were very small, part
  124.   of the "X-NewsCoaster-Flag-Online: yes" text would appear in the message.
  125. - Bug fix; using 'View/Save UUEncoded Attachment' then meant using 'View/Save
  126.   Attachment' on the message would stop working, until you reopened the window.
